Production & Inspection Lines

Complete Production Systems with Integrated Quality Assurance

Link processing, handling, and final inspection into a highly efficient, end-to-end system. MSG Solutions develops turnkey production lines that seamlessly combine mechanical engineering and measurement technology (GMS series, SES). Through direct inline integration, every component receives a digital twin for full traceability and maximum process optimization.

What Is a Production & Inspection Line?

Definition: From Raw Material to Inspected Finished Product

A production and inspection line is a linked production system that connects multiple process steps into an automatic overall sequence: singulation → feeding → processing → inspection → sorting → palletizing. Every step is automated and networked in terms of control. The result: high output, consistent quality, and complete documentation.

Our Production & Inspection Lines in Detail

Individual Line Design

Every production and inspection line is designed precisely for your product, cycle time, and quality target. We combine processing stations (sawing, drilling, milling, straightening), handling systems (feeding, positioning, buffering), and inspection stations (geometry measurement, surface inspection, length control) into a continuous system. 3D layout planning ensures the line is optimally integrated into your hall.

Integrated Inline Measurement and Quality Assurance

The heart of every MSG inspection line: our own measurement technology. GMS-E measures cross-section geometries at pipe ends, GMS-P captures external contours, GMS-I measures internal geometries, straightness measurement checks straightness and twist, and the SES evaluates surface quality with AI. All measurement data flows into a digital twin – for 100% inline quality assurance, automatic OK/NOK sorting, and complete traceability.

Automation and Control Networking

Our production and inspection lines are fully automated and networked in terms of control. OPC-UA interfaces enable connection to your MES/ERP system. Real-time dashboards give you an overview of output, quality metrics, and system availability. The foundation for predictive maintenance and continuous improvement.

Traceability and Data Management

Advanced identification and data acquisition systems enable complete traceability of every produced part – from raw material supply to the finished product. Barcode, DataMatrix, or RFID uniquely identify each part. All processing and measurement data is assigned to the part and stored long-term.

Production & Inspection Line – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What measurement technology is integrated into the inspection lines?

Our own systems: GMS-E (cross-section), GMS-P (external contour), GMS-I (internal geometry), straightness measurement, SES (surface evaluation with AI), and Tuboscan (optical pipe measurement). All inline and in real time.

Can existing machines be integrated into a new inspection line?

Yes, we also integrate existing machines into new line concepts. This includes control connection, material flow integration, and, if necessary, modernization of existing systems.

How is quality ensured in the line?

Through integrated inline measurement technology at defined inspection points, automatic OK/NOK classification, real-time dashboards, and complete traceability of every part via barcode, DataMatrix, or RFID.

For which industries does MSG Solutions build production and inspection lines?

Focus on steel and pipe production, automotive industry, and construction supply. The lines are individually designed for your product, cycle time, and quality requirements.

How does a line project at MSG Solutions work?

  1. Process analysis and requirements definition, 2) Concept with 3D layout, 3) Detailed design and software, 4) Manufacturing and pre-assembly in Schmallenberg, 5) Installation, commissioning, and on-site training.

How long does it take to realize a production and inspection line?

Depending on scope: 6–12 months from concept phase to acceptance. Complex lines with many stations can take up to 18 months. Through maximum pre-fabrication, on-site installation time is minimized.

Does MSG Solutions also offer service for production and inspection lines?

Yes: maintenance contracts, remote maintenance, spare parts, software updates, training, and worldwide on-site deployment. We support your line throughout its entire lifecycle.

A secure start into the future with our solutions.
