We are delighted to announce a project that holds a very special significance for us: For an Austrian customer, we are implementing a complete turnkey solution for the inspection and packaging of cast aluminium billets.
What makes this project particularly special is the way we combine mechanical engineering and measurement technology into one integrated solution – from quality inspection all the way through to the fully packaged product.
At the same time, this project marks an important step in strengthening our focus on the aluminium industry and systematically expanding our expertise in this field. The experience and know-how gained through the project will provide a valuable foundation for future projects and solutions within the industry.
Inspect Quality. Control Processes. Package Products.
The project combines two interconnected areas into one continuous solution: an inspection line for quality control and a coordinated packaging line.
The integrated inspection line performs surface inspection, cross-sectional measurement and straightness measurement of the cast aluminium billets. The measurement systems used in this application are operated under our new TWINEX brand. TWINEX stands for our many years of experience and our commitment to using measurement data intelligently for quality assurance and process optimization. This is exactly what TWINEX represents in practice: The data generated during inspection is fed directly into the downstream packaging line, helping to connect the inspection and packaging processes into one intelligent overall solution.
The system includes:
A saw that responds directly to the inspection results
A robotic laser marking station
Short billet stacking up to 2 m
Long billet stacking up to 9 m
Strapping and packaging
By combining our high-precision measurement technology with our mechanical engineering expertise, we provide our customer with a solution that enables its products to be qualified according to different European and international standards, allowing them to be supplied to various international markets in compliance with the applicable standards.
The complete system is being designed for operation in the Gulf region, serving an international market with high demands on quality, flexibility and process reliability.
For MSG Solutions, this project is much more than a major order. It demonstrates what is possible when measurement technology and mechanical engineering are consistently developed as an integrated concept, resulting in a customized, end-to-end automation solution.
